New Delhi: A fire broke out at a Rohingya refugee camp near Kalindi Kunj Metro station in Southeast Delhi on Saturday, destroying over 50 shanties. No one was injured, an official informed.

Five fire tenders rushed to the spot after they were informed around 11:55 pm. The police too hit the spot after the Kalindi Kunj police station received a PCR call regarding the fire. The fire, the cause of which is yet to be ascertained, was brought under control around 3:00 in the morning.

RP Meena, Deputy Commissioner of the Police (Southeast), said that fifty-six shanties, shelter to nearly 270 refugees, were destroyed. Appropriate legal action is being taken, she assured.
