text_fieldsAn interesting interaction happened during a meet-up of the Gandhi family with a group of women from Haryana, where one of them asked the former Congress president and Lok Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi about getting her son married.
Sonia Gandhi had a light-hearted chat with the women and one of them asked her about the marriage of her son and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"Why don't you look for a suitable girl for him?", Sonia quipped.
Rahul Gandhi had visited Madina village in Sonipat district in Haryana on July 8, where he had promised a group of women a Delhi visit along with lunch at his house.
Rahul Gandhi shared a video of the interaction with the women on social media, with a caption that reads, "A memorable day for Mother, Priyanka, and me, with some special guests! Sonipat's farmer sisters visit Delhi, bringing gifts with them and lots of fun talks. We got precious gifts together: desi ghee, sweet lassi, homemade pickles, and lots of love."
Within an hour, the video received around 500,000 views on Instagram, with a lot of readers leaving interesting comments for the post.
"He's the true companion of normal people. And it seems he will make it in 2024," commented a user.
The Congress leader has shared the full video on YouTube as well, with a caption in Hindi that, when translated to English, reads: "A few days ago, when we reached Sonipat village while continuing the Bharat Jodo Yatra, I received a lot of love and affection from the farmers there, especially from the farmer sisters."
"This is India; no hate, no discrimination, only pure love and hospitality," wrote another user.
“Real and pure Indian hearts sharing true love and affection”, one YouTube user commented on the full video.
The women farmers also discussed subjects like inflation and the Agniveer scheme over lunch with the Gandhi family here.
Rahul Gandhi has been interacting with the public for some time now, surprising everyone with his sudden visits. In March, he visited the Bengali Market and Jama Masjid area. Then later he visited the Mukherjee Nagar area to interact with UPSC aspirants.
He also visited Delhi University’s PG Men’s Hostel over lunch and then visited Haryana’s Murthal and from there he took the truck ride to Ambala.
Recently, he also visited the Nike market in the Karol Bagh area in Delhi and interacted with the bike mechanics.
During his recent visit to the US, Rahul Gandhi had also taken a truck ride from New York to Washington DC.
Even during his Karnataka visit during the assembly elections, he interacted with the delivery partners and also took a scooter ride with them.
The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, which took place between September 7, 2022, and January 30, 2023, went through 12 states and took 146 days.
The 3,500-kilometre march, a desperate attempt by the party to rally support ahead of the general election, saw Rahul Gandhi address multiple public meetings during which he targeted the ruling BJP.
