John Brittas MP and Subhashini Ali with Irshad

Muzaffarnagar: The family of the Muslim student, who became of a victim of slapping by his fellow classmates on the instigation of his class teacher, expressed their hope that the communal friendship and brotherhood observed in Kerala would extend to Uttar Pradesh.

Irshad, the father of the battered student, shared his aspiration for UP to emulate Kerala's harmony with Subhashini Ali, a member of the CPM Politburo, who was accompanied by Rajya Sabha Member John Brittas MP from Kerala.

They visited the residence in Muzaffarnagar Khubbabur, conveying the message of love and harmony envisaged in the celebration of Onam in Kerala.

Both Brittas and Subhashini Ali, who offered solace and support to the family still coping with the shock of the teacher's brutality towards the seven-year-old, announced the backing given to the family by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, as well as Education Minister V. Shivankutty's promise for his further studies.

Stating what he saw in Muzaffarnagar, is as proof of what hatred and animosity can do to people, Brittas proposed to help the family of the torture victim and his elder brother, who had stopped studying due to poverty, in their further studies. Brittas stated that the family accepted the proposal.

The father revealed that following the distressing incident at school, the child's speech became noticeably impaired. Irshad met with the controversial teacher Trupti Tyagi twice along with his wife, yet she remained resolute in defending her actions.

This led them to decide to enrol the child in a different school. The new school authorities indicated that admission would be granted after a week.

The duo left Irshad’s home, leaving behind a message of love and brotherhood from Kerala along with an Onam gift.
