Farmers' leader warns of consequences if protestors are removed

Farmers' leader Rakesh Tikait tweeted that if the Centre tries to remove protestors from Delhi borders, there will be consequences. He said that the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) will turn government offices across India into grain markets.
He added that if the administration tries to pull down their tents at the protest site, the farmers would set them up at police stations and the district magistrates' office, reported ANI.
Two days ago, the Delhi police had forcibly removed cement blocks and barricades from the Ghazipur and Tikri borders. The stretch was for 11 months and caused inconvenience to commuters. The Supreme Court last week observed that farmers have the right to protest but not block roads indefinitely. Farmers stated that the police put up the barricades.
The farmers have been protesting against the new laws since November 26, 2020, and the issue remains despite several rounds of talks between the Centre and farmers leaders.
