MUMBAI: Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister on Wednesday assured Fukahori Yasukata, the Consul General of Japan in Mumbai that infrastructure development projects like bullet train will be implemented quickly with the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) funds.

This assurance was given by Fadnavis while meeting with Yasukata and other Japanese officials.

Besides the high-speed rail project (bullet train) connecting Mumbai and the commercial hub of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, JICA is also funding the Mumbai Metro-3 line and the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) project.

The MTHL, when completed, will be the longest sea bridge in the country with a length of 21.8 km.

Besides Yasukata, the meeting was attended by Mission Deputy Kaneko Toshilhiro and other senior Japanese officials.

Fadnavis, in a social media post, said, "We discussed JICA-funded projects like Bullet Train, MTHL and Metro-3 line. I assured them that this government is committed to fast-tracking all these projects and ensuring timely completion."
