Did you update Aadhaar card? Remember other deadlines this month

New Delhi: You cannot anymore be lazy about deadlines including updating Aadhaar card fast approaching this month.

If you have not yet updated Aaddhaar card, and linked it with the PAN card, it is about time you got to do it.

Remember, you can update details to Aadhaar card for free only a few more days as Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) extended it from June 14 to September 14, 2023.

The scheme allows citizens who have their Aadhaar card issued ten years ago but not updated yet.

The Ministry of Finance earlier this financial year made it mandatory to link Permanent Account Number (PAN) to Aadhaar card for investing in small saving schemes like Public Provident Fund (PPF), Post Office Saving Scheme and Senior Citizens Saving Scheme (SCSS).

Existing subscribers have to submit their Aadhaar numbers by September 30 and if not, their accounts will be frozen.

Other bank-related changes you have to keep in mind include the deadline for the nomination facility for trading and demat accounts.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) extended deadline to September 30 to make nominations or opt out of it.

Meanwhile, those holding Axis Bank's Magnus credit card will have to pay more from today as the bank has changed terms and conditions.

The annual fee has been revised from ₹ 10,000 (plus GST) to ₹ 12,500 (plus GST) and the benefits for the card have also been revised.

The deadline for exchanging Rs 2000 notes ends this month which the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in May.

As per this, people can deposit or exchange them for lower denomination notes till September 30 for up to ₹ 20,000 at a time.
