Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister on Tuesday said he wouldn't reveal "at this juncture" the contents of the suicide note left behind by the Karnataka Legislative Council deputy chairman SL Dharme Gowde, who was found dead on a rail track Tuesday morning.

B. S. Yediyurappa also told the reporters the entire death note is like a will carrying details about SL Dharme Gowde's property and other important personal details.

"We are not revealing the contents of it at this juncture," he explained adding it would be done so once the police completed the probe.

Meanwhile, S.L. Dharme Gowda's last rites were performed with state honours on Tuesday at his farmhouse in Sakarayapatna, in Kaduru taluk in Chikkamagaluru district.

Several prominent leaders including former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Chief Minister, B.S. Yediyurappa, JD(S) leader, and H.D. Kumaraswamy attended the funeral.

After the autopsy, the body was taken to his Madagadakere farmhouse in Sakarayapatna, where his son, Sonal performed the last rites amid chanting of vedic hymns.

B. S. Yediyurappa earlier said the Chikkamagaluru police had got hold of the 'suicide note' left behind by S. L. Dharme Gowda.

Home minister Basavaraj Bommai also confirmed the recovery of the death note from the crime scene.

"He has mentioned several sensitive matters in his lengthy note, which the police want to probe in detail. Only then the real scenario that led to such an extreme step can be revealed," he said.

BJP national general secretary C. T. Ravi who hails from Gowde's district said Gowda did not appear to be upset with the ruckus that had taken place two weeks ago.

"I had called him on the day the ruckus took place but he did not show any sign of remorse. I really do not know why he took such an extreme step," he said.

SL Dharmegowda was found dead on a railway track near Gunasagara in Kadur taluk of Chikmagalur district, which is his hometown.

He is suspected to have died by suicide in the early hours of Tuesday. According to reports, on Monday evening, he had gone out of his farm in Sakkarayapattana village in his car and never returned.

The worried family started to search for him and finally, the police found him dead near the railway track on Tuesday morning.
