New Delhi: As part of a case involving alleged financial funding for instigating violence in northeast Delhi in February 2020, the High Court of Delhi dismissed the bail application of Tahir Hussain, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Hussain's bail plea in the case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was being heard by Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat of Karkardooma court.

ED Special Prosecutor N. K. Matta gave evidence last month, arguing that sufficient evidence has been established against the accused.

The ED alleges that Hussain transferred thousands of dollars fraudulently from the accounts of multiple companies.

An investigation had previously found that the money obtained was the proceeds of crimes that had been used for other crimes.

The agency also had conducted searches at various premises and claimed to have seizedseveral incriminating documents and digital devices were recovered and seized from the possessions of the accused.

"WhatsApp chats, bogus invoices and other incriminating documents have been recovered," as per the ED.
