Delhi police catch the most-wanted gangster in the city
text_fieldsDelhi's most-wanted gangster, Shahrukh (28) has been finally caught by the city police. Carrying a bounty of Rs 2,00,000 on his head, he was wanted in multiple cases of murder, attempts to murder, firing, and extortion.
Three of his aides - Sameer Umar (29), Yusuf-Ur-Rehman (23), and Sohail Arshad (23) - have also been captured. All four of them are residents of Delhi. DCP Manishi Chandra of the Counter Intelligence Unit of the Special Cell said Shahrukh is the last major criminal of the Lawrence Bishnoi - Kala Jathedi - Sampat Nehra - Hashim Baba alliance.
He added that the police received information regarding the movements of the said criminals in the Chhatarpur area on April 25. The Special Cell then laid a trap to apprehend the accused. Sophisticated firearms and live ammunition were also found in their possession. A separate case has been registered regarding this.
The gangster is accused of murdering several of his rivals. In June 2020, he killed Yogesh, a resident of Dakshinpuri, in broad daylight in the Preet Vihar police station area. In April 2021, another member of a mentor-turned rival Hashim Baba's gang was murdered in the Mandawali police station area.
In March 2021, he fired 24 bullets into the body of Kunal due to his rivalry with Ravi Gangwal. Kunal's brother Sunny is Gangwal's closest aide. The crime was committed in the Ambedkar Nagar police station area. Shahrukh's continued actions have been terrorising South Delhi for some time now. In March 2022, he attacked Sunny but he wasn't successful. He went to Sunny's house and opened fire to intimidate the family.
