New Delhi: Following the order of the Union Home Ministry to suspend all the police personnel posted in three PCR vans and two pickets along the route where a girl was dragged by a car to a brutal death, 11 police officers were suspended for negligence in duty, NDTV reported.

The suspended officers are from the Rohini district police, which monitors Delhi's Kanjhawala area, where the horrendous incident happened.

The case has caused massive outrage and condemnation, and forensic experts were summoned from Gujarat to collect evidence and samples from the spot.

According to Delhi Police, the place is being visited by a team of five forensic experts from the National Forensic Science University is visiting at the request of DCP. This is following the request of DCP (outer) Harendra K Singh, who is probing the incident.

In the case, a woman who was riding a scooty was hit by a car, and her body got tangled in the vehicle. The car did not stop but dragged her body for 12 km in the early hours of New Year's day. The woman's body was found with clothes peeled off along with her skin.

Days after getting caught, the five men who were inside the car admitted that they were aware that her body was tangled in the underside of the car. They told the police that they did not stop the car because of fear.

Twenty-year-old Anjali, the victim of the horrific incident, was going home when she was hit by a car around 2 am in the morning. She was with a friend then, who fell on the other side and escaped without injuries.

After the hit, her leg got stuck in the car's fore axle, and the car dragged her away. The car had dragged her for 13 km from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala.
