Dead, retired cops get transfer in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: One 'typographical error' in a government order has a dead cop resurrected in Madhya Pradesh, according to a report.

Another error in the same transfer and posting order has got a retired officer transferred.

This erroneous order by the Home Department has many in the state in split.

Red in the face from errors, authorities were quick to cancel the order, citing typographical errors.

The order by Home Department transferred 167 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs).

The list had the names of officers including DSP Jitendra Yadav transferred from the 26th Battalion Guna to Gwalior. Yadav had died of Covid-19 about six months back, IANS reported.

Another error saw Shashibhushan Singh Raghuvanshi, who had retired about one-and-a-half years ago, transferred from SDOP Kailaras in Morena district to the 18th Battalion of Shivpuri.

When the errors were brought to the notice of the Home Department, Under Secretary Annu Bhalavi issued an order cancelling both the transfers.
