Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the Navarathri celebrations witnessed many untoward incidents during the ten day span. There was a death of a little girl, a woman who faced an acid attack, and several clashes reported from the state during the festival days, which ended on Wednesday after the burning of effigies of demon king Ravana and his brothers, IANS reported.

The Garba venues had created a controversy by making ID cards mandatory inside them. A girl of 11 who was watching the festival in Indore was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday. An autopsy found a bullet-like object in her skull, and it is suspected that she was hit during fireworks.

Late on Tuesday in Jabalpur, a group of men attacked a woman with an acid-like chemical at a Durga Puja pandal. The victim, who received severe burn injuries on her face, is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Ten suspects have been detained for interrogation.

The woman, who was attacked by a group of men with acid, sustained severe facial burns and was admitted to a hospital. The incident happened late on Tuesday in Jabalpur. Police have detained ten suspects in the incident for questioning. '

A senior police official said, "The victim, along with her mother, had gone to a Durga Puja pandal near Sunarhai locality in Jabalpur district, when suddenly some youths threw an acid-like chemical on her face. Once the laboratory reports confirm if it was acid, we would add stricter charges against the preparators."

Among several incidents of clashes between two communities, an Agar-Malwa district incident witnessed two groups attacking each other with sticks while women and senior citizens ran for cover.

The mentioned clashes happened at a temple premises, a village 200km away from Bhopal.

These crimes took the stage after the state government and police assured full security arrangements for the festival, IANS reports.
