Covid Updates: India's daily cases below 3L, TPR 15.52%

New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry updates on Tuesday records 2,55,874 Covid-19 cases in India, pushing the tally of cumulative cases to 3,97,99,202. The new update comes after the fresh cases per day stood over 3 lakh for five successive days.
As of 8 am, the total death count reached 4,90,462 in the country after 614 more deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The active caseload declined to reach 22,36,842 after 12,493 cases were reduced from the pool in 24 hours. Active caseload now constitutes 5.62 per cent of total infections reported in the country, the ministry informed. The daily positivity rate reached 15.52 per cent, which was 20.75 per cent a day ago, and the weekly positivity rate on Tuesday was 17.17, the ministry update suggested.
The cumulative count of recovery reached 3,70,71,898, and the fatality rate was 1.23 per cent, it said.
India's vaccine coverage reached 162.92 crores after 62,29,956 more doses were administered in the last 24 hours. When 88.8 crores of India's adult population got the first dose, 68.87 crores got the first two doses. 4.27 crore eligible teens also got their first dose, and 88 lakh plus precautionary doses have been administered so far.
