Covid: Mumbai to close schools until January 31

In the wake increase in the Covid 19 cases, Mumbai Municipal Cooperation decided to closed schools from January 4 to January 31 with an exception for classes 10 and 12.

Mumbai reported the 8,082 fresh cases on Monday. This drastic increase in the number of cases forced Mumbai Municipal Cooperation to close the schools for a short period of time. Schools will continue online classes as per the schedule.

Mumbai experienced a rapid increase in the Covid 19 cases in the last two weeks and 8,082 fresh cases alonse on Monday. The test positivity rate of the city is reported as 16.7. Mumbai is one of the Indian cities that reported the high spread of the recent variant Omicron. Authorities further stated that most of the reported cases of Covid 19 are asymptomatic. 71 persons out of 576 total cases reported on Monday are being supported with oxygen.
