Covid-19: India's vaccine cover crosses 43 crores

The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Sunday announced that India's cumulative vaccine coverage against Covid-19 has crossed 43 crores. A total of 43,31,50,864 vaccine doses have been administered through 52,72,431 sessions thus far. 51,18,210 shots were administered in the last 24 hours alone, the statement said.

The overall recovery rate from the infection stands at 97.36 per cent, with 3,05,43,138 of those infected having recovered till now. In the last 24 hours alone, 39,972 people recovered from Covid-19. The number of active cases stands at 4,08, 212; 1.30 per cent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, India recorded 39,742 fresh cases.

The statement further noted that India has conducted 45.62 crore covid tests so far, with 17,18,756 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The daily overall positivity rate stands at 2.31 per cent and has been below consistently 5 per cent for 48 consecutive days now.
