Conspirator in Delhi court shootout killed by rivals in Tihar Jail fight
text_fieldsNew Delhi: A jailed gangster was killed after rival gang members attacked him at Delhi’s high-security Tihar Jail on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya alias Sunil Mann, who is known to be the prime conspirator in the 2021 Rohini Court shootout, was attacked by ganster Yogesh Tunda and his associates, according to NDTV.
Tillu Tajpuriya was declared dead when taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital after Yogesh Tunda and his associates thrashed him with iron rods, police reportedly said.
Another prisoner, Rohit who is also injured in the attack, is said to be out of danger now.
In the 2021 shootout, two members of the Tillu gang, dressed as lawyers, shot dead Jitender Gogi inside the Rohini court.
Both the gang members were killed in the subsequent retaliatory firing by the police.
‘Two men dressed as lawyers opened fire at Jitender Gogi inside the court. That's when police retaliated and killed those two assailants. It's not a gang war,’ NDTV quoted the police as saying.
Years of gang rivalry between the gangs of Jitender Gogi and Tillu led to the shootout for which the instruction was given by Tillu Tajpuriya, according to the police.
