The Congress party in Haryana has submitted a memorandum to the state's governor, urging the dismissal of the BJP-led government, which they claim has become a minority in the legislative assembly.

Senior Congress leader BB Batra, along with Deputy CLP leader Aftab Ahmed, delivered the memorandum to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, highlighting the current political situation in the state.

The memorandum points out that the Haryana government's support has dwindled following the withdrawal of support by three Independent MLAs earlier in the week. It also mentions another Independent MLA, Balraj Kundu, who had previously withdrawn support, further weakening the ruling coalition.

The Congress asserts that the government is now in the minority in the legislative assembly, as evidenced by the support garnered by opposition parties and independent legislators.

BB Batra clarified that the Congress has no intention of forming a government under the current circumstances. Instead, they demand the imposition of the President's rule and fresh elections to ensure democratic principles are upheld.

The memorandum calls for prompt action from the governor to dismiss the minority government and order fresh elections, stating that allowing the minority government to continue would undermine democratic values.

The Congress also highlights the withdrawal of support by the JJP and INLD, further eroding the government's credibility and mandate to govern.

Aftab Ahmed emphasized that the majority of MLAs are opposed to the current government, indicating its loss of moral authority to remain in office.

The Congress leaders handed over the memorandum to the governor's secretary, as Governor Dattatreya was unavailable at the time. They expressed willingness to present their case before the governor if required.

The memorandum comes amidst preparations for Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, with assembly elections scheduled later in the year.
