Jaipur: On Sunday, the Congress party disclosed its second list of 43 candidates who will contest the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections scheduled for November 25.

The party has strategically fielded former chief secretary Niranjan Arya in the Sojat (SC) constituency.

Among other notable candidates, State ministers Govind Ram Meghwal and BD Kalla have been nominated to contest from Khajuwala (Scheduled Caste) and Bikaner West, respectively. Additionally, Minister of State for Higher Education Rajendra Singh Yadav will represent the Kotputli seat.

All three ministers are closely associated with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The Congress has now revealed a total of 76 candidates for the Rajasthan elections, following the release of the first list, which featured 33 candidates and was announced on Saturday.

The polls for the 200-member assembly are set to take place on November 25, with the results expected to be declared on December 3.

The Congress aims to secure continued governance based on its accomplishments over the past five years and the welfare initiatives introduced by the Ashok Gehlot-led government.
