New Delhi: Senior Congress leaders will march with Rahul Gandhi as he appears on Monday before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.

Alleging misuse of the central investigative agencies by the Centre, the Congress will hold demonstrations before 25 ED offices in the country, according to NDTV.

Congress leader Manickam Tagore accused the government of plotting to implicate Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in a 'fake' case.

The Congress leader called out PM Modi and Amit Shah accusing them of silencing opposition voices using CBI.

The Congress came down heavily on the Center blaming its "vendetta politics" alongside terming the charges against leaders as "fake and baseless" after ED served notice to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi weeks ago.

Vowing to protest the "dictatorial attitude" of the BJP, Tagore said Opposition leaders across the nation were targeted with raids and actions.

Sonia Gandhi is reported to be appearing before ED on June 23 after she skipped earlier summons as she was down with covid 19.

Both the leaders are facing charges in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the National Herald newspaper founded by Jawaharlal Nehru.
