Congress lost its brand stature, now a regional party: Kangana

Kullu: BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Sunday accused the Congress party of losing its stature as a national brand, asserting that it has now been relegated to a regional entity.

Speaking to the media, Ranaut praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that his victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections marked one of his greatest achievements. She emphasized that while Congress was once recognized as a significant political force in India, with a time when, after independence, the Congress party was also known as a brand, it has now been reduced to a regional party, highlighting the shift in public perception.

Ranaut further explained that the loss of faith in Congress was due to its failure to offer stable governance. She noted that the people of India now desire a stable government that prioritizes development, which she believes contributed to the BJP’s historic victory in Maharashtra.

The actress-turned-politician continued her praise of PM Modi, describing him as "invincible" and emphasizing his life of penance and idealism, which she believes was dedicated to the welfare of the country. Ranaut expressed her personal belief that Modi was born for the nation's benefit, given his ascetic lifestyle.

On the issue of the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ranaut stated that the decision would ultimately be made by the BJP high command. She also highlighted the party’s unity, underlined by its shared ideology of Hindutva and the guiding principles of the RSS, ensuring consistency across all BJP leaders and workers.

Ranaut took a jibe at Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, claiming that Bhaskar’s comments reflected frustration. She observed that during the Maharashtra campaign, children were enthusiastically chanting Modi's name. She further noted that those who once tried to divide the country had been taught a lesson by the public and were now behaving in a manner she described as "like a frustrated cat scratching the pole."
