Cockroach Janta Party backs Jharkhand agitation following successful nationwide exam reform protests

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke announced on Wednesday that the youth-led organization will travel to Jharkhand to support students protesting alleged irregularities in state public service and recruitment examinations. The announcement comes as five more individuals joined an ongoing hunger strike at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, where job aspirants have been staging an indefinite sit-in since July 29 to demand an independent investigation by retired High Court judges from outside the state.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a CJP core team meeting in his hometown of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Dipke stated that the organization will currently function as a public pressure group rather than entering electoral politics. Citing dwindling public trust in the judiciary, media, and Election Commission, he emphasized the need for an independent body to hold institutions accountable, especially given the volatile nature of modern political alliances. The core committee meeting, attended by representatives including Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh, focused on outlining the organization's future roadmap, addressing rising unemployment, and tackling broader issues such as ethanol-blended fuel.

CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das confirmed that environmentalist and education activist Sonam Wangchuk will continue to mentor the group. Das noted that the organization is actively negotiating with government representatives to secure the withdrawal of FIRs filed against students during recent nationwide protests and is working to provide legal and medical assistance to injured agitators.

The CJP recently concluded a massive agitation at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on July 25, which saw thousands of student activists and a 26-day hunger strike by Wangchuk mobilize against widespread competitive exam paper leaks. Dipke, who returned from the US in June to lead the NEET-UG protests, successfully galvanized youth across the country. The demonstrations, which faced police crackdowns and arrests in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bihar, ultimately led to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan last week.
