CM Yogi acts as Chief Justice, he convicts & demolishes houses: Owaisi
text_fieldsKutch: By announcing solidarity with politician Javed Mohammed, Chief of All India Council for Unity of Muslims (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi raised strong allegations against the Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday.
While speaking at the rally at Kutch, he accused the Prayagraj authority and Yogi Adityanath of illegally dissembling the house of the activists.
"The UP Chief Minister has become the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. He'll convict anyone & demolish their houses?"
Javed Mohammed, also known as Pump, was arrested by the police on June 10 without any warrant. The police had accused Javed, who is also the leader of the Welfare Party of India of being the mastermind behind Prayagraj violence.
According to reports, the activities of his daughter Afreen Fathima, who was also a strong advocate of the anti-CAA protests, is also under the scrutiny of the police investigating her involvement in the violence.
"We have found a 12 bore illegal pistol and a 315 bore pistol and cartridges and some documents that show objectionable comments against the honourable court," said Ajay Kumar, the Senior Superintendent of Police of Prayagraj stating the reasons for the demolishment.
The police who also noticed the construction of the house to be illegal had asked Muhammed for its demolition by June 9.
The lawyers of the accused have denied the allegations saying that the house was not in the name of Javed, but his wife. Hence, the destruction of the house without submitting any documents stating illegal construction does not abide by the law.
The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) on Saturday demolished the homes of two accused members of the Prayagraj violence, claiming them to be illegal constructions.
