Mumbai: Reacting to Uttarakhand Director General of Police's statement that the woman arrested in the "Bulli Bhai" case got involved in it for money, Maharashtra Minister Satej Patil said, on Wednesday, said that Mumbai Police would investigate all claims regarding the accused and if the DGP's statement is true, those who employed the woman would also be arrested, The News Minute reported.

The minister said that Mumbai Police is awaiting a transit order for the two arrested in Uttarakhand. They will be brought to Mumbai, questioned with another arrested from Bengaluru, and the mastermind caught, he added.

After the 18- year-old Shweta Singh was arrested, Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar, talking to the media, had claimed that the woman was of a poor family and her father was dead.

After Shweta's arrest, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale told the media on Wednesday that there could be more people involved directly or indirectly in the case other than the arrested three. All of them will be captured and prosecuted. The police are now probing whether there was any conspiracy in the case. Considering the sensitivity of the issue, no further details could be shared at the moment because it could affect the online probe, he said.

Nagrale further criticised those who published versions of developments on the case. He said that no one should issue statements if they don'ṭ have the proper information.

Hundreds of Muslim women were placed for auction on the "Bulli Bai" app, a clone of the controversial "Sulli Deals" app, with photos sourced without permission and doctored. The three arrested in connection with the case were Shweta Singh, Vishal Kumar Jha and Mayank Rawal. Mumbai Police has registered a case naming the app's unknown developers and the Twitter handles which promoted it.

The Delhi Police also had filed FIRs on Saturday and Tuesday and moved the cases to its Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit. It had sought the GitHub platform for details about the developer of the mobile application and Twitter to provide information on the handle that first posted about the app.
