Rajpur: A Christian youth in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district was allegedly assaulted by a group of Hindutva men, who forced him to chant religious slogans.

A video of the incident surfaced on social media on Wednesday, March 18, showing a man grabbing the youth by the collar and ordering him to say “Jai Shri Ram”. As the youth repeats the slogan under pressure from those surrounding him, the man leading the group is seen slapping him.

At the time of publishing, Champa police told Siasat.com that they were unaware of the incident and that no complaint had yet been reported.

Incidents targeting Christians have seen a rise in parts of India, with Hindutva groups often citing allegations of “illegal conversion” as justification.
