text_fieldsBilaspur: A 22-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her boyfriend in Bilaspur city, Chhattisgarh, after he blocked her mobile number and stopped responding to her messages, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the rented accommodation of victim Kamta Prasad Suryavanshi (25), a resident of Karra village in Ratanpur, said Summat Sahu, Station House Officer of Civil Lines police station. Kamta, who worked as a waiter at a restaurant near Mangla Chowk, lived in Shubham Vihar with two roommates.
The accused, identified as Roshni Suryavanshi from Jhalmala village in the Sipat area, reportedly befriended Kamta through Instagram some time ago, and the two had been meeting regularly, SHO Sahu said.
According to preliminary investigations, Kamta blocked Roshni’s number and stopped responding to her Instagram messages a few days ago. Suspecting he had started a relationship with another woman, Roshni arrived at his house around 11 am on Tuesday. An argument broke out over why he had blocked her number, escalating into a scuffle.
During the confrontation, Roshni allegedly stabbed Kamta in the chest with a vegetable-cutting knife she had brought with her, the official said. Kamta’s roommates were present at the time of the attack. He was declared dead before being admitted to the hospital.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
