New Delhi: Hinting at a potential alliance, Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu met BJP President Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah today, ANI reported.

The meeting gathers importance as the BJP has long been eyeing to seize the moment in the state politics with assembly and national polls are less than a year away.

The meeting lasted only half an hour and little is known about what transpired among the leaders.

Citing sources, the news agency reported that BJP and TDP may form an alliance for the Telangana assembly elections.

Back in the 2014, TDP was part of BJP-led NDA until they parted ways in March 2018 before the 2019 polls over the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Indicating the renewal of alliance, both parties came together after the recent municipal elections in Port Blair.

In an episode of radio programme Mann Ki Baat last month, PM Modi remembered NT Rama Rao on his birth anniversary.

Rao founded TDP and was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms.
