Centre accuses Rahul Gandhi of instigating protesting farmers
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Central government has now turned its target on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for the violent incidents during the tractors parade organised by the farmers protesting against the contentious farm laws.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that Rahul Gandhi was not only supporting protest but also instigating.
"It was the same during CAA, Congress holds rallies, they instigate people to take to streets and agitation begins next day. It happened during this agitation too. They instigated farmers," the minister said.
He also said that the Congress party cannot escape responsibility from the violence as it is in power in Punjab.
Javadekar also said that the government has never stated that the doors for dialogue with farmers are closed and stressed that it will inform whenever the decision is taken for fresh talks.
After the 11th round of talks on Friday, the government asked the farmers to reconsider their proposal of holding the three farm laws on hold for 1-1.5 years, but the farmers rejected their proposal. No decision has been taken on another round of talks with farmers.
