Six minors were detained by police after a video surfaced online showing them riding two-wheelers while waving a Palestinian flag in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka.

The incident took place on Sunday around 1 p.m. on Dantaramakki Road, according to officials.

The group, consisting of three boys on one bike and another three following behind on a separate vehicle, were seen waving a Palestinian flag and shouting "Free Palestine" slogans. The flag was reportedly held by a 17-year-old riding as a passenger.

Following the circulation of the video on social media, police apprehended all six boys and registered a case against them under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for disturbing communal harmony. Both the vehicles and the flag were seized as evidence.

Upon interrogation, the boys revealed that they had been inspired by videos they had seen of a procession in Uttar Pradesh where people were carrying Palestinian flags, and wanted to create a similar reel for Instagram.

Earlier in the day, former BJP national General Secretary CT Ravi raised concerns about the event, alleging that a rally involving over 20 two-wheelers and a four-wheeler took place without proper permission, with participants holding Palestinian flags. He urged the police to investigate further, emphasizing the need to address any larger network involved and not take the incident lightly.
