Canada road accident takes 5 Indian students' lives
text_fieldsToronto: Five Indian students got killed in a tragic road accident that happened on Saturday in Ontario, Canada after a van and a tractor-trailer crashed, PTI reported citing Canadian police.
The students Harpreet Singh, Jaspinder Singh, Karanpal Singh, Mohit Chouhan and Pawan Kumar, were declared dead at the spot as per the Canadian Press reporting from the location. Two are reportedly in medical care. The victims of the accident, which happened on Highway 401 in the Quinte West city, Southern Ontario, were aged between 21 and 24 years and were studying in Greater Toronto and Montreal areas, police informed.
Indian High Commissioner to Canada Ajay Bisaria tweeted that the incident was breaking. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. Teams were dispatched for assistance to the friends of victims, he added.

On Monday, the Indian Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar expressed his consolation on Twitter. He said that he was deeply mourning the loss and praying for the recovery of the injured. The Indian team will provide necessary support and aid, he promised.
