"Bribery is in their blood": Punjab CM against the Congress
text_fieldsChandigarh: Police on Thursday detained the congress leaders protesting outside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan's residence.
The party is up in arms over a slew of actions against their leaders including the arrest of former state minister Sadhu Sigh Dharamsot.
The congress called out Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan for not keeping his promise of meeting them over the arrest of Sadhu Singh, despite promising.
Bhagwant however said, lampooning the Punjab congress, that he was saddened by the Congress' protest before his residence supporting their arrested leaders.
Their support to the looters, he said, is proof that bribery is in their blood.
Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who was the Minister of Forests and Social Welfare in the Captain Amarinder Singh Cabinet, was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau on the charge of corruption.
He is facing charges on alleged multi-scam in Dalit scholarship schemes, according to India Today.
