A Pakistani drone was detected along the International Border in Jammu. The Border Security Force (BSF) fired several rounds causing the drone to return to the Pakistani side.
The drone activity takes place only three days after the BSF found an underground cross-border tunnel in the Chak Faquira area of the Samba district.
A massive search operation was launched to make sure that there was no airdropping of the payload by the flying object, said Deputy Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, S P Sandhu. "The search was completed and nothing suspicious was found".
He stated that a drone from the side of Pakistan was observed coming towards the Indian side in the Arnia area at 7.25 pm. It had a blinking light. The BSF troops fired around eight rounds to shoot down the drone as soon as it crossed the border. However, it managed to fly back to the other side.
Cops are on high alert after the incident.
