New Delhi: BJP promised houses where there were slums and the party was now rolling bulldozers instead, Kejriwal said.

The Delhi Chief Minister condemned in his tweets BJP-controlled MCD( Muncipal Corporation of Delhi) for its demolition drive.

The 'biggest destruction" in independent India, he said, would raze 63 lakh people's houses and shops, according to India Today.

Addressing media he pointed out that for one thing 80 per cent of Delhi would come under encroachment.

He accused MCD authorities of targeting shanty colonies even after people showed their papers.

He said that BJP ruled MCD for 15 years and raised illegal buildings.

In the wake of the demolition-drive in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday was to hold a meeting of his lawmakers.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs reportedly would huddle at Kejriwal's residence in Civil Lines

Earlier, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia urged in a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to stop the anti-encroachment drive.
