Lucknow: In a startling development, a BJP worker identified as Vinay Srivastava met a tragic end early Friday morning at the residence of Union Minister of State (MoS) and Member of Parliament (MP) Kaushal Kishore.

The incident unfolded in the Begaria area of Dubagga, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, when the victim Srivastava was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident transpired around 4 a.m., and investigations have linked the firearm used in the shooting to MP Kaushal Kishore's son, Vikas Kishore. However, Vikas Kishore was reportedly in Delhi when the shooting occurred. MP Kaushal Kishore promptly reported the incident to the police.

Relatives of the deceased have pointed fingers at six individuals, alleging their involvement in the murder. Local law enforcement has taken swift action, detaining three individuals thus far, while others are undergoing interrogation as part of the ongoing investigation.

MP Kaushal Kishore addressed the media, affirming the police's discovery of his son's firearm at the scene. He expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation's ability to uncover the truth behind the incident.

He also clarified that Vikas Kishore was absent from the residence at the time of the shooting and voiced his sorrow, emphasizing the close friendship between Vinay and his son.

Meanwhile, the victim's brother, Vikas Shrivastava, has accused three individuals present at the residence of being responsible for his brother's demise. Vikas pointed to the condition of his brother's body and damaged shirt buttons as indications of a possible altercation or scuffle. He further disclosed that the police had recovered a licensed revolver at the scene.
