Pathankot: Congress leader slammed the BJP and RSS on Thursday, saying that both organisations create nothing but an atmosphere of hatred, violence and fear in the country, PTI reported.

Addressing a crowd in Pathankot as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that BJP is turning one religion into another and applying the same to castes and languages.

He stated, "They create fear. All of their plans (policies) cause fear to someone or something."

"Whatever we (Congress) do is to wipe out fear. And whatever they do, they (BJP) do to spread fear," Rahul said.

He said that the previous Congress government was the one which brought MGNREGA, waived farm loans, urban renewal mission, green revolution, and white revolution.

The three (repealed) farm laws had created fear in the farmers' minds, he said, aiming a slap at the Centre.

He said, "Look at their policies -- farmers get up at 4 am in the morning, and they toil hard daily and feed the nation. Farmers do not want anything in return, they only want respect."

"But what did BJP do for them -- they brought black farm laws. These laws created fear among farmers," he said.

On Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Rahul said that farmers were not getting compensation for their crop damage because of the vagaries of the weather.

"Not even a single farmer told him that they got insurance compensation when they suffered crop loss due to natural calamities," he said.

On Agnipath Scheme, he said that when lakhs of youths aspire to join the armed forces, the scheme shattered their dreams.

He further said that Ludhiana used to be the manufacturing centre of small and medium enterprises, keeping good competition with China, but demonetisation and GST impacted the businesses there.
