The BJP's election manifesto for Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls is loaded with promises including Uniform Civil Code if it comes to power in the hill state.

The saffron party national president JP Nadda released on Sunday what India Today said the 11-point manifesto which promises to empower youth and farmers, among other offers.

Nadda reportedly said that BJP realized the goals it had committed to the state alongside achieving those it had not.

The 'BJP Sankalp Patra 2022 included 11 commitments for the state this time, which according to Nadda will strengthen horticulture, offer justice to government employees, while improving religious tourism and empowering youth and farmers.

The most notable of the promises in the manifesto is the controversial Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which the party says will be implemented if it is back in power.

Nadda however added that the code would be brought in on the basis of a report prepared by a committee.

"The BJP Govt will bring the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) into the state. A committee of experts will be formed for the purpose and the UCC will be implemented in the state on the basis of their report," he was quoted as saying.

The manifesto commits that the government will offer eight lakhs job opportunities including government jobs in the state.

The villages in the state will be linked through better all-weather roads and under the CM Anna Datta Scheme over 9 lakh famers would benefit.

Aiming at developing infrastructure and transportation in the state, the BJP plans to launch what it calls "Shakti'.
