New Delhi: BJP national President JP Nadda's Twitter handle was hacked on Sunday morning, and a tweet seeking cryptocurrency donations to Ukraine appeared on the handle, Asian News International (ANI) reported. ANI has shared a screenshot of the same.

One of the tweets called for supporting Ukraine. It said that donations in cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, are being accepted for Ukraine.

However, the tweet was deleted shortly after, and Nadda's access to the handle was restored.

Last December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official Twitter handle got hacked. A tweet appeared on the handle around 2:30 in the morning, December 12, claiming that India officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender.

The tweet said that the government has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing to Indian residents, The Indian Express had reported. The post shared a link and asked people to hurry up, adding that the future had arrived. Multiple screenshots of the post had appeared on social media, even though the tweet got deleted shortly after posting. Later the Union government's cyber security wing CERT-In had ordered an high-level inquiry into the breach.
