Vadodara: BJP leader Sunita Shukla disapproves of sologamy saying that such practices are a threat to the Hindu population system of the country. The former deputy Mayor of Vadodara also critiques that practice and considers it to be negligence of traditional Hindu marriage practices.

"I am against the choice of the venue. She will not be allowed to marry herself in any temple," added the leader while speaking to the ANI.

After the announcement of sologamy which is scheduled for June 11, Kshama Bindu has been receiving both positive and negative responses from social media. When a couple of users have announced their complete support, many have raised concerns.

Congress leader Milind Deora has also commented on Kshama Bindu's marriage.

"I have said it before- 'wokeness' borders on insanity. Let's hope it stays far, far away from India." said his Twitter post. He received multiple backlashes following the post.

However, Kshama Bindu has not decided to reconsider her decision on sologamy. "I think women marrying themselves might seem incredibly threatening because it looks like we are saying men are irrelevant, but we are just saying that we matter," added Bindu who considers the marriage to be the greatest act of self-love.

Bindu was inspired by the television series 'Anne with an E' in vouching for the marriage.
