BJP doing injustice to Noida floodplains residents: Priyanka
text_fieldsNoida: The BJP government is doing "gross injustice" on the residents of the flood plains of Noida, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the saffron party on Sunday. She said that the government is more concerned about its corporate friends when it should have cared for the poor and middle class here, PTI reported.
Priyanka tweeted that the residents of floodplains of areas of Noida have the right to get electricity and water, but the government never listens to them. She added that "together we had to bring about the change." (sic)
She further said that the brothers and sisters of the floodplain areas should know that Congress is standing with them and will take all the possible measures to solve their problems.
The population along the floodplains of Yamuna and Hindon rivers have raised their issues of lack of power and water. Meanwhile, the district administration has warned the settlers against illegal constructions since the area is an ecologically sensitive zone. It had warned them of fraudsters who comes up with fraudulent property offers in the area, violating the rules and regulations.
Noida will be having elections on February 10. The Congress candidate here is Pankhuri Pathak, who will be battling against sitting BJP MLA Pankaj Singh. Election results will be declared on March 10. Noida, next to Delhi, is located in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of western Uttar Pradesh.
