New Delhi: There are visible signs that the BJP has been in distress since the formation of a larger opposition unity under the banner of INDIA as the country prepares for national elections in 2024, and the party is often found expressing its frustration by personally attacking members of the INDIA front.

The latest skirmish involves a controversial poster posted by the BJP on social media, portraying Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the likeness of the mythical demon king Ravan.

The poster, shared on the BJP's official handle on X (formerly Twitter), features a film poster-like design with the caption, "Ravan, a Congress party production, directed by George Soros."

The reference to George Soros, the Hungarian-American businessman and philanthropist, has been a recurring theme in BJP's criticism, accusing him of interfering in internal matters through his substantial donations to various groups worldwide.

In the poster, Rahul Gandhi is depicted with multiple heads, reminiscent of the ten-headed Ravan, and is adorned in body armour. The accompanying text reads, "The new age Ravan is here. He is Evil. Anti Dharma. Anti Ram. His aim is to destroy Bharat."

The provocative imagery has not gone unnoticed by Congress leaders, with Jairam Ramesh taking to social media to condemn the BJP's post. In his response on X, Ramesh questioned the intent behind the graphic, alleging that it was designed "to incite and provoke violence" against Rahul Gandhi.

Ramesh further emphasized the historical context, pointing out that Rahul Gandhi's father and grandmother were assassinated by forces aiming to divide India.

"It is one thing for the PM to give evidence daily of being a pathological liar and of suffering from a narcissistic personality disorder. But for him to get his party to produce something this obnoxious is not just completely unacceptable but is downright dangerous. We will not be intimidated," Ramesh asserted.

As the political temperature rises, with Rajasthan and several other states gearing up for upcoming assembly elections, the poster wars between the BJP and the Congress party are expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
