Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that he would not overlook BJP's plot under Hindutva agenda.

Because, BJP often cheated Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray on the pretext of alliance for Hindutva, he said, according to The Indian Express.

Shiv Sena president was interacting at Drushtikon organised by Marathi daily Loksatta of the Indian Express Group in Mumbai.

Uddhav Thackeray, however, would not reveal what cheating Bal Thackeray experienced at the hands of BJP.

Maharashtra Chief Minister said only so much that Bal Thackeray had a streak of innocence.

Opening up about his mistrust of BJP, he said he would not allow BJP to succeed in its plot. He had his eyes and ears on each of BJP's actions and strategies.

He blamed BJP for what he said introducing 'low-level politics" in Maharashtra and added that people would question BJP for letting down Maharashtra.

Ramming home his party's ideology, Maharashtra CM said for Shiv Sana Hindutva was like a breath; however, his party would not proclaim it every now and then in public.

When Shiv Sena fought and won its first by poll in Vile Parle on Hindutva plank, BJP fielded candidate against it. After the polls, BJP approached Bal Thackeray proposing alliance on Hindutva, Thackeray said.

Bal Thackeray overlooked BJP's mischief and cheating in the larger interest of Hindutva, the state and the country, he said, adding that he himself was not so naïve to trust BJP.

BJP's politics of vendetta was never the political culture of Maharashtra, which would not be tolerated in the state, according to him.

Alongside, he said the Centre government could not bulldoze its decisions on states he said. Any attempt to misuse power by the centre would be met with retaliation.

Maharashtra that had fought Mughul ruler Aurangzeb would do everything for its pride and honour, he said.
