Bihar teacher caught travelling without ticket alleges TTE harassed her
text_fieldsPatna: A woman in Bihar accused a train ticket examiner of harassing her after she was caught traveling without a train ticket in an AC coach, NDTV reported.
The footage of incident going viral online showed an argument between a Bihar government teacher and a train ticket examiner.
Gaining attention online, the woman was heard accusing the TTE of acting with an intension of ‘bothering’ her.
The TTE reportedly said that it was not about troubling her, explaining that she was traveling without ticket, reminding that she was a teacher.
To which the woman said ‘You are lying. I am not telling any lies’.The TTE added: ‘I remember very clearly. You are a teacher in the Bihar government and you travel without tickets. And if you have any tickets, then show us.’
The TTE recorded the exchange between them on her phone as the woman says ‘Please show me your phone. Don't record like this.’ To which the TTE reportedly said ‘Please don't touch me’.
At some point when the woman said TTE was harassing her, the officer countered saying ‘I am troubling you? You don't have the ticket. I am asking you to go in sleeper (sleeper coach) and you are not going. And you are saying that I am troubling you’.
But the woman however went on saying that the TTE was troubling her for long time, adding ‘I know you are recording me’.
The TTE said: ‘Of course I am. You are not taking a ticket and then you are saying that you are getting troubled.’
As she was about to leave, picking up her bag, the woman shouted at TTE ‘You are a useless person’.
The TTE responded: ‘It's not me who is useless, it's you. If I am calling you a useless person, you feel bad, but when you said that, it's fine? You are a Bihar government teacher and travel without tickets.’
Many online criticised the woman for playing what they said the ‘victim card’ with some pointing out it was inappropriate for a government teacher to travel without a ticket.
