New Delhi: Murdered journalist Gauri Lankesh's mother and sister joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka. He said the march is the voice of people like Gauri Lankesh and it can never be silenced.

He wrote on Twitter that Gauri stood for truth, courage, and freedom. "I stand for Gauri Lankesh and countless others like her, who represent the true spirit of India. Bharat Jodo Yatra is their voice. It can never be silenced." He also shared a picture of walking with the late journalist's family.

Bharat Jodo Yatra that began on September 8 from Kanyakumari has so far covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.

Gauri Lakkesh was shot dead near her house in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017. She was a vocal advocate of secularism and a critic of right-wing politics. The trial of her case is still going on.
