Bengaluru scientist's car attacked by sword-wielding gang, police launch investigation
text_fieldsBengaluru: A scientist in Bengaluru faced a terrifying ordeal last week when he was attacked by a gang of bikers who smashed the windows of his car and brandished swords.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on August 24 at around 12:45 am on Ravuthanahalli Road in the northwestern part of the city. The victim, identified as Ashutosh Singh, is associated with the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS).
Authorities have confirmed that an active investigation is underway in response to the incident. The Madanayakanahalli police station has taken the case and conducted on-site examinations to gather evidence and locate the suspects involved in the attack.
The incident took place when Ashutosh Singh was driving along Ravuthanahalli Main Road, situated on the outskirts of Bengaluru. In a detailed post on social media, he shared the unsettling experience, revealing that he had a narrow escape from a dangerous situation. Singh recounted that during his drive, he encountered a group of individuals who attempted to force him to stop his car, displaying alarming behaviour.
When he chose not to comply with their demands, the gang, armed with swords, began to chase him relentlessly. The pursuit resulted in the rear glass of his car being shattered, leaving the scientist deeply traumatised by the incident. Following the harrowing experience, Singh promptly filed a formal complaint with the police, seeking justice for the attack he endured.
In his post, Singh expressed his urgent demand for swift action against the assailants who targeted him. He described how the gang of four individuals on motorcycles pursued him over a considerable distance, instilling fear and distress.
The Madanayakanahalli police station acknowledged the severity of the situation and promptly registered a case based on Ashutosh Singh's complaint. Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the attack.
Alokkumar, the Additional Director General of Police for Traffic, also took note of Singh's account on social media. He affirmed his awareness of the gravity of the incident and assured the public that he has directed relevant authorities to take stringent measures in response to the attack, ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
