Bal Thackeray worked with Karsevaks to demolish Babri Masjid: BJP MLA

New Delhi: BJP top leader in Mumbai and MLA Ashish Shelar said that the Karsevak Hindus, along with Balasaheb Thackeray, contributed well to razing down Babari Masjid, Asian News International reported.
Talking to ANI on Tuesday, he was questioning Uddhav Thackeray on his part in the masjid demolition. He came down on Uddhav, asking what his contribution was in bringing the mosque down.
The leader said that BJP believes that the demotion of the historic mosque was some spontaneous action by the Karsevak Hindus when it was actually a demand raised by Hindu society and all the saints associated with it for 500 years.
Shelar said that Bal Thackeray's role had benefitted the movement that brought down Babri Masjid. He said they congratulated and respected him for that, but his son (Uddhav) stayed at home when the campaign was going on. He is still sitting at home, he said, adding that Uddhav became so selfish and powerful greedy that he forgot his father's thoughts and visions.
BJP leader and minister Chandrakant Dada Patil said earlier that Bal Thackeray had no role in the masjid demolition. But Shelar said that that was Patil's personal statement, and if he had not stated so, it would have been better.
