New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner (DPC) Rakesh Asthana has conducted intense hours-long interrogation of the Jahangirpuri violence main accused, Mohammed Ansar Sheikh, on Friday. Asthana directly went to the Crime Branch's sector 18 Rohini Branch to question Sheikh, IANS reported.

Sources informed that Asthana came to the Crime Branch office around 12:00 in the noon and directed officers to make a detailed interrogation report of the accused.

The report is expected to be submitted before the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). IANS reports that Asthana wasn't available to comment when the news agency attempted to contact him.

It was on April 16, that clashes erupted between two groups belonging to different communities in the national capital's Jahangirpuri area. A Shobha Yatra was going on in the area as part of the Hanuman Jayanti, and eight police officials and a civilian got seriously injured in the violence happened.

On Sunday, the Delhi Police arrested Sheik, and he was remanded. The Crime Branch is probing the case to find the depth of the conspiracy behind Jahangirpuri violence, IANS reported.
