Bhopal: Ahead of the 2023 Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress in the state decided to release a manifesto for each district separately, IANS reported, citing a senior leader from the party.

The senior leadership in the state has directed party cadres to prepare lists of issues pertaining to each district in the state after meeting people. According to the source, the party had found success using 'Vachan Patra' or poll manifesto in the 2018 Assembly elections, and it wishes to roll out the same again.

The decision to roll out the same was taken in a meeting of the 'Vachan Patra Advisory Committee on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by state Congress president and former Chief Minister of the state, Kamal Nath.

Chairman of the panel, Rajendra Singh, informed, "During the meeting, Nath directed the committee members to take into account the aspirations of the people from different areas of the state, study their problems and suggest solutions and based on all these factors, Vachan Patra should be prepared, keeping the requirements of each district in mind."

Further, Kamal Nath had asked the committee members to prepare detailed reports on the functioning of various government departments of the state government and monitor the misinformation campaign led by the BJP government.

Singh said that the committee members tabled many vital suggestions for the manifesto, and the panel discussed them in detail before incorporating them.

The Vachan Pathra committee includes former Union ministers Suresh Pachouri and Arun Yadav, Leader of Opposition Dr Govind Singh, former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh (Rahul) and some former ministers. The meeting was held at Kamal Nath's residence at Shyamla Hills on Thursday evening.
