Mumbai: Aryan Khan walked free from jail amidst tight security on Saturday morning as his bail documents pertaining to the Cordelia cruise ship drugs bust case have been successfully submitted at Arthur Road jail. The 'bail box' in which the documents must be submitted had closed by the time his lawyers reached the jail to submit them on Friday. They were able to submit them today at 5:30 AM in the morning.

Mukul Rohatgi, former Attorney General of India, fought for Aryan Khan's bail in the High Court for three days. Actor Juhi Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan's co-star in the early days of his film career, signed the 1 lakh bail bond for Aryan Khan. He has been in custody for 27 days and been denied bail twice.

The bail hearing for Khan and his co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha took three days of back and forth arguing between the Narcotics Control Bureau and lawyers for the accused. Khan's lawyers have alleged that the courts were misled on certain aspects of the arrest and that the alleged WhatsApp chats procured by the NCB could not prove a criminal conspiracy case against the three accused.

However the NCB had countered that there was more than enough evidence to establish a conspiracy considering the amount of drugs found and the number of people involved. Aryan Khan was involved in dealing with 'commercial quantitites' of drugs, the NCB alleged.
