Mumbai: Following his arrest on the Cordelia cruise ship last week, Aryan Khan appeared in court to appeal for bail and has had his bail application deferred today. His bail plea will be heard next Wednesday after the Narcotics Control Bureau gives its statement to the court.

Special Judge V.V Patil of the Special Court under the NDPS Act deferred the bail plea to October 13. At the same time, he also rejected the request of the NCB to be given a week to file all replies in the case. On October 8, the magistrate's court at Mumbai rejected the bail applications of Aryan Khan, son of actor Sharukh Khan, and two others in the cruise ship drug bust, observing that a Special Court under the NDPS Act would have exclusive jurisdiction to hear their pleas.

The NCB has made at least 18 arrests in the case including three alleged suppliers and one consumer. No drugs have been personally recovered from Khan according to reports. Aryan Khana and his friends Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were booked under sections 8(c) read with 20b (purchase), 27 (consumption), 28 (attempt to commit offence), 29 (abetment/ conspiracy) and 35 (presumption of culpable mental state) of the NDPS Act, after six and five grams of charas were allegedly seized from Merchant and Dhamecha respectively.

Khan is currently lodged in Arthur Jail.
