Bhopal: In another shocking incident, a government employee identified as Jawahar Singh Gond (55) was arrested in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district for a brutal assault on a tribal man. A two-year-old video of the incident surfaced on social media, showing the accused mercilessly beating the victim, who was half-naked and defenseless, with sticks.

The video, which was reportedly shot by the accused himself, depicts the victim being subjected to a barrage of physical abuse, including being forced to pick up shoes with his mouth. The victim, a 35-year-old youth who was known to the accused as both belonged to the same village, suffered multiple punches that resulted in a serious jaw injury.

The police confirmed that the distressing footage was from a two-year-old incident.

According to sources, the victim used to work as a driver for Jawahar Singh Gond for several years. However, a dispute over land ownership arose between the two, leading to tension and animosity.

The incident came to light in the aftermath of another horrific incident in Sidhi, where an accused named Pravesh Shukla was arrested and charged under the National Security Act (NSA) for a separate offense. This incident sparked public outrage, leading some individuals to convince the victim to make the video public on social media.

Following the circulation of the viral video and a formal complaint lodged at the Hanumana police station, Jawahar Singh Gond was taken into custody. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act for his heinous actions.

Jawahar Singh Gond is a government employee at a government school in Hanumana and his wife holds the position of Sarpanch in their village.
