The caller tune featuring Amitabh Bacchan in the public service announcement about the Corona virus was replaced with a new caller tune which is focused on spreading awareness about the Covid-19 vaccination in the country. The vaccicantion process in India started from Saturday, the 16th.

The new caller tune features a female voice which talks about the vaccination drive, it provides a reference to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and also the national COVID-19 helpline number 1075.

"The vaccine produced in India is safe and reliable and provides immunity against COVID. That's why you should put your trust in Indian vaccines." The caller tune says.

"Please take the vaccine when your turn comes and don't believe rumours." The caller tune adds.

Earlier, in January 2020, a 'Public Interest Lawsuit' was filed before the Delhi High Court, seeking directions from the Center to remove Amitabh Bachchan's voice from the COVID-19 caller tune. The plea noted that the bollywood actor neither has a "clean history" nor has "served" the country by "social work." The caller tune faced criticism from several mobile phone users as they were "forced to listen to the message" before making a call.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive via a video conference on Saturday.
